STEPHEN BOE

Stephen Boe

A friend and customer for over 20 years, violinist Stephen Boe has been able to rely on Bein & Fushi for just the right instrument to suit his performing needs and budget since early in his career. His most recent acquisitions of a superb violin by G. B. Guadagnini, Piacenza c 1747 and a Peccatte School bow are no exception. "Having an instrument like this was my dream. The violin is wonderful for solos. The projection and sound I want come easily. I'm more relaxed when I play," said Boe. "When you make a good investment in an instrument originally, that helps on the road toward getting your dream. I never thought I'd ever have a 'Guad' or the Vuillaume and Montegazza I got from Bein & Fushi before this." Boe has been a freelance musician in Chicago since 2001. Along with a busy schedule of studio work, he is a member of the Ars Viva Chamber Orchestra, the Chicago Ensemble, which was heard live on WFMT-FM on November 6, and the Trio Dominique. The trio toured the southern states in 2006. Boe recently performed the Brahms sonatas at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He will be recording Brahms complete works for violin and piano for iTunes in 2007.

"Gabriel Ben-Dashan and John Becker spent alot of time with me. I am very grateful to them for helping me with this journey. And Robert Bein. I bring the instrument to John every three to four months for a check-up. He's been great. The violin is sounding even better."
