Jean (Grand) Adam was one of the leading early French makers. This bow draws a beautiful luscious quality of sound and is a very fine example of Adam's work. The round shaft is of reddish-brown pernambuco. The frog and button are of modern origin with ebony and silver fittings and a pearl end eye.
