A cello by

J.B. Vuillaume

Paris, 1850

Instruments by Vuillaume's shop were the finest of French origin during the mid-to late-19th century. This cello is a stunning example of his top Stradivari model copies. The two-piece maple back is of narrow, strong curl running horizontally. The orange-red varnish is plentiful. It is tonally an outstanding choice for a leading professional. Its condition would make it an excellent selection for a collector as well.
