The Cypress String Quartet - Live

A debut double CD that also represents the debut of a very special program developed by the ensemble, "Call and Response." The project integrates performance and outreach through the commission of new works. This CD was recorded live at the very first "Call and Response" concert and features music commissioned by the group for this project by Dan Coleman as well as works by Beethoven and Mozart. Members of the Quartet include recipients Tom Stone, of a violin by Carlo Bergonzi, Cremona c 1733, "Tonge, Scheinin" and Cecily Ward, of a violin by Antonio Stradivari, Cremona, 1681, "Fleming," along with violist Ann Gregg, and cellist Jennifer Kloetzel. As a wonderful enhacement to the musical experience, the second CD in this set is actually a CD-ROM with videos of the performance, interviews with Tom Stone and Dan Coleman, and background information on the artists, composer, and project.
