On DVD 1 an 2 six outstanding young violin students are coached on essential violin repertoire by the legendary Ruggiero Ricci. DVD 3 features violinist Li Chuanyun - whom Ricci called, "the most talented young violinist I have ever heard" - receiving guidance from the master on solo works by Bach and two of the most technically demanding pieces written for the violin: Variations on an Austrian Hymn by Wieniawski and Variatons on God Save the Queen by Paganini.

A fascinating exploration of violin technical wizardry with Ricci and interviewer, violinist, and conductor Michel Samson. Ricci reveals and demonstrates his approach to his unique left-hand pyrotechnics, how to perfect intonation, and his practice methodology. The master gives an inside view on how he prepares Wieniawski's Variations on an Austrian Hymn. Ricci is the only artist to have ever recorded this challenging work.
