Master restorer and violin maker Keisuke Hori has honed his skills during his fifteen years assisting John Becker, one of the world's foremost restoration experts. He earned the designation of Master Restorer in 2006 in recognition of his great skill and accomplishment. He is proud to work with John Becker on the restoration of the old masters. Becker has given Hori many opportunities to study the great Italian violins over the years. Hori has collaborated closely with many internationally renowned artists on the restoration and adjustment of their instruments. That study has been essential in shaping both his restoration work and his instrument making. As a violin maker, Hori creates late period Stradivari models. His instruments are known for their meticulous and precise workmanship. Hori violins have a warm, complex sound that projects well. His model reflects the darker and more muscular tone of Stradivari's output during that time. His instruments have been acquired by the finest professional musicians, but Hori's production is limited due to his restoration work.

"It's very exciting to collaborate with artists on adjustments: to be able to translate what they want into the precise modifications that will be the best match for their artistry."
